Evangelical Theological Seminary

Evangelical Theological Seminary is an interdenominational seminary established in 1953 and accredited by Middle States and the Association of Theological Schools. The mission of Evangelical is to develop student leaders for effective ministry in a broken and complex world by nurturing rigorous minds, compassionate hearts, and Christ-centered actions.

Evangelical offers a strong academic foundation in a supportive environment with faculty who are readily available and concerned for their student's academic success and spiritual development. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 10:1. Financial aid, including the William Randolph Hearst Presidential Scholarship, is available for recent college graduates who qualify.

Degree offerings include the Master of Divinity (with tracks in Congregational Ministry, Teaching Ministry, Youth Ministry, Global and Contextual Studies, and Marriage and Family Counseling); the Master of Arts in Religion (with concentrations in Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical Studies, Historical and Theological Studies, Spiritual Formation, Global and Contextual Studies, and Interdisciplinary Studies); Marriage and Family Therapy (a Christian Counseling degree which leads to state licensure), and short-term Graduate Certificates (in Youth Ministry, Lay Ministry, Marriage and Family Counseling, and Global and Contextual Studies). The twelve-acre campus includes on-campus housing; recently renovated Christ Hall, the main campus facility; the Pense Archaeological Museum; a fitness room; the recently renovated Rostad Library, smart technology in each classroom; and campus hot spots for wireless devices.
