George Washington University is a large four-year, highly residential school, located in a large city (Washington, District of Columbia). It is a private non-religious school (not-for-profit), located in the great East Coast area of the country.

S.J. Trachtenberg is the President of the school. You can find more information about George Washington University by visiting their website.

George Washington University has a closed admissions policy. This doesn't mean you won't be able to be admitted to the school, but that you should contact the admissions office for complete admissions information. In order to apply for admittance, your high school GPA and your class rank (where you were in your class) are both recommended. In addition, you will need to provide your high school transcripts and your standardized test scores, such as those from an ACT or SAT. (Check with the admissions office to see which tests are acceptable.) If English is not your primary language, it is required that you take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and submit the results with your admissions application.

Of those who applied to the school, 37% were admitted. There are currently 24,423 students enrolled in the George Washington University.

Academic and career counseling services are available to students and, if it fits better with your needs, the school offers some programs via distance learning.

The school has on-campus housing available for up to 7,751 students. On-campus housing costs average about $7,600 per year. You may also choose to participate in a meals program for an additional $3,500. (This could be a weekly, monthly, or term amount. Check with the school's admissions office for further information.)

The average tuition for out-of-state full-time undergraduates is approximately $35,604. If you are an in-state student, then the average tuition is approximately $35,604. Any tuition figures are exclusive of required fees, books, and supplies. The fees can vary, but books typically average about $1,000. It is estimated that the total cost for an in-state student is $51,270 per year and $51,270 per year for an out-of-state student. If you choose to live off-campus, then it is possible for costs to be higher.
